Heterologous and Autologous Mesotherapy

Facial or body mesotherapy has become extremely popular among people who want to maintain the freshness of their skin and prevent the signs of aging. Mesotherapy is a technique developed in France in the 1970s and consists of injecting a multivitamin preparation.

WHAT IS MESSOTHERAPY AND HOW IS DONE?

It is a non-invasive treatment with multiple benefits for the skin, applied by injection or not. Facial and eye mesotherapy rejuvenates the skin, restores its elasticity, offers hydration and makes the skin more radiant without signs of aging, such as wrinkles.

A mixture of vitamins, amino acids, and hyaluronic acid (HA) is injected into the surface layers of the skin, to a depth of a few millimeters, with a fine needle that leaves – literally – a drop in each bite. With this technique we manage to give the skin the nutrients and other substances it needs, in the amount it needs, exactly where it needs them.

HOW DOES IT WORK;

The ingredients of the mesotherapy mixture are carefully selected to supplement the nutrients the skin needs for its health and defense against harmful environmental factors, but also to replenish substances that are lost with age, such as HA.

  • HYALURONIC ACID (HA): The use of HA in the formulation of mesotherapy does not help to fill and eliminate wrinkles, but it attracts more water molecules, offering deeper hydration and rejuvenation to the skin.
  • VIT C: powerful antioxidant, with action on collagen synthesis, inhibition of free radicals, oxygen and melanin overproduction
  • VIT E: powerful antioxidant, with action against free radicals
  • VIT A: has a proven anti-wrinkle effect, reducing the thickness of the skin and increasing its elasticity, regulating skin healing processes
  • AMINO ACIDS: promote the synthesis of proteins (collagen and elastin) by fibroblasts (increase collagen up to 250% in 72 hours)

ORGANIC SILICO: Organic silicon is one of the most popular anti-aging ingredients in the method of mesotherapy. It is a substance that exists in the human body, but over time it decreases in quantity. This results in loosening of the skin and reduction of connective tissue. Its main role is the production of collagen and elastic fibers, its antioxidant action, but also the hydration of the skin, binding water molecules. By increasing its amount in the skin, it tightens, stimulates cells, inactivates free radicals and reduces wrinkles.

A second very important role is the activation of the skin self-healing mechanisms, caused by the stings brought to the skin by the microneedle used for mesotherapy. Specifically, the stings activate the skin’s healing mechanism resulting in the release of growth factors around the treatment area, which in turn activate the fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin.

On the other hand, the non-injectable method is microneedling mesotherapy (head with 12 tiny thin needles), which opens micro-holes in the skin increasing the percutaneous absorption of substances as well as the production of collagen and elastin.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HETEROLOGY AND AUTOLOGICAL MESSOTHERAPY;

Apart from the classic mesotherapy with the mixture of the preparations, there is also the autologous one. This treatment utilizes the plasma present in the patient’s blood, for this reason, before the application begins, about 10 ml of blood is taken from the doctor. More specifically, this method utilizes the growth factors of activated platelets, to activate collagen production and cell regeneration.

WHERE IT APPLIES?

  • FACE
  • NECK
  • HAIR
  • CHEST
  • EYES
  • HIPS AND GLUTES
  • BELLY

HOW IT IS DONE AND ΟΝ WHAT FREQUENCY:

The treatment of the face and body is done with the help of a local anesthetic cream which usually precedes the procedure. The mesotherapy mixture is injected under the surface of the skin and the whole procedure takes about 30-40 minutes. Immediately after the treatment there is a redness that lasts about 30 minutes, while the marks from the treatment subside in 6-8 hours and can be covered with make-up. The results are obvious from the first 10 days and over time they become even more noticeable.

Facial mesotherapy usually requires 3-4 sessions, one every month and then maintenance every 5-6 months depending on the size of the problem, the response of the skin and the “cocktail of substances” that we will choose.

Body mesotherapy requires 6-8 sessions, one each month, although the exact number has to do with the size of the problem (type of cellulite, Lipolysis-Saddlebags Thighs) as well as whether it is combined with regular exercise and diet.

SCALP MESOTHERAPY:

It is mainly used to treat hair loss and alopecia. It can of course be applied for the reconstruction of weak hair, the hydration of the scalp and the reduction of dandruff. The frequency of applications is every 4-6 weeks in the first 6 months and the result is maintained with 1 conference every 6 months.

In any case, make an appointment and the doctor will suggest you the alternative methods that are ideal, so that together you can come up with the appropriate form of mesotherapy that suits you.

RISKS AND SIDE EFFECTS:

In general, mesotherapy is a risk-free aesthetic injection method. However, there are cases of people with sensitive skin who show slight pain, mild swelling and bruising. But all this is temporary and subsides after a few hours or days. In order to avoid problems and infections, you should take care of the hygiene of the area by keeping it completely clean.
